Soccer

Uruguay is the country where the 1st World Cup was held, and the Centenario Stadium (Estadio Centenario) was used as the main stadium. You can enjoy watching soccer games there.
If you go up to the tenth floor of the Homenajes Tower (Torre de los Homenajes) of the Stadium, you can have a view of the entire city.
More than that, the Soccer Museum is here, too.

Golf

Uruguay Golf Club (CLUB DE GOLF DEL URUGUAY)
This was opened near and close to a seaside avenue near Montevideo City in 1934.
It is a beautiful 18-hole, par 73, 6,542-yard course. It is equipped with a clubhouse, tennis courts, and swimming pools.

Cerro Golf Club (CLUB DE GOLF DEL CERRO)
This is located at the foot of a hill in Montevideo, with an 18-hole, par 73, 6,379-yard course. It was established by a U.S. enterprise in 1920. A wooden clubhouse brings back the atmosphere of that time.
Holes No. 1-9 are along the The River Plate bank. Playing golf surrounded by a beautiful 360-degree panoramic view is splendid.

La Tahona Golf Club (LA TAHONA GOLF CLUB)
This is a new golf club near the airport in the suburbs of Montevideo with an 18-hole, par 71, 6,588-yard course.
