General Information

Paraguay: "The beauty is in its nature"

Here are many national parks and areas designated as nature conservation sites. The Chaco Region's stretch of untouched plains is a treasure house of wildlife where nature is preserved in its purest form.

Simple and friendly folk welcome visitors with trademark Latin joy.

The relaxed atmosphere that Paraguay brings to our hectic days to a temporary stop, and fills us with the wonders of a slow-paced life.

Handicrafts are also popular. Hand-knitted lacework (Nanduti) made with one needle and graceful cotton embroidery (ao-poi) are popular as daily commodities and accessories.

The Arpa (Indian harp), a native musical instrument, and yerba mate known in South America as eco-tea, are also famous.

Furthermore, there is a Japanese immigrants' district, which may be referred to as "The Other Japan" in Paraguay. The area is, typically and traditionally, Japanese, making us forget we are on the other side of the planet.
