There is a mix of big and small rivers, lakes, marshes and a scattering of several waterfalls. You can observe a diversity of wild animals and birds that naturally live there.

The southern part of Pantanal belongs to the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, and the northern part to the State of Mato Grosso. The southern entrance into Panatanal is Campo Grande City while the northern entrance is Cuiaba of the State of Mato Grosso.
