Manaus (MANAUS)
It is a big city in the center of the vast Amazon. It flourished with the discovery of crude rubber at the end of the 19th century. It is now a base of Amazon tourism.
Amazonas Theater (Teatro Amazonas) now standing is luxuriously built with architectural material imported from Europe and attests to the prosperity at that time.
Completed in 1896, and after being renovated, the theater now seats 700. It is the venue for high-level domestic and international cultural events.
Custom House and the Floating Dock (ALFANDEGA)
It is the first prefabricated building in Brazil at 300 m in length. Since 1912, the ships that sail on the Amazon River and the Negro River (Rio Negro) depart from this pier.

Eco-tour of the Amazon Jungle
When touring around the vast Amazon jungle, it is advised that you stay at a hotel in Amazon and join any of the various package tours that the hotels offer.
These tours include piranha-fishing, a crocodilian observation trip, jungle sight-seeing by canoe, and trekking in the jungle. You can enjoy the eco-experience in the jungle that seems to creep around the hotel.
The use of electricity and warm water in the hotels is limited as part of conservation efforts of the natural environment.

Meeting of the Waters (ENCONTRO DAS AGUAS)
When the Negro River (Rio Negro) joins the Solimoes River (Rio Solimoes), the river waters flowing in from the left and the right do not mix. For several kilometers, the water advances seemingly with a boundary between them.
The sight of the dark-colored water from Negro River and the brown-colored water from Solimoes River flowing together is a natural beauty which you should not miss in the tour of the Amazon.
