It is located in Sao Miguel in the northwest of the State of Rio Grande do Sul near the border of Argentina.
The missionaries of the Society of Jesus made one of the seven mission villages that were called Redugoes in evangelizing to the natives of the Guarani Tribe in Brazil in 1687.
It is now called the Ruins of Sao Miguel Das Missoes. The ruins were registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site of UNESCO in 1983. |

Eco-tour in Missoes
There is a package tour that goes around Missoes on a relaxing horseback ride. You can enjoy both horseback riding and sightseeing at the same time.
In addition, there is a sightseeing course to walk through the old towns and villages of old Missoes (mission) where the Jesuits evangelized the Guarani Tribe.

You can visit the ruins of Redugao (Ruina de Redugao) in the Sao Miguel Arcanjo village. The church, old sacristy, Missoes Museum (Museu das Missoes) and Cross Missioneira (Cruz Missioneira) are recommended sites. |
