Brasilia (BRASILIA)

Brasilia

The capital city of Brazil is located between the Preto and Santo Antonio do Descoberto Rivers. It is shaped like a bird.
It is registered as a World Heritage Site of UNESCO (cultural heritage).
It is one of the very few examples of a city made from a modern urban design.

Brasilia is on a plateau 1,152 m above sea level. Please be careful with direct sunlight exposure and humidity.
Especially, during the dry season from June to October when humidity becomes less than 30%, drinking plenty of water is a must and refraining from using air conditioning is necessary.


Sightseeing in the City

The 典hree Powers Square (PRAヌA DOS TRハS PODERES)
It is a square with The Planalto Palace (Pal當io do Planalto), the Executive Office of the President; the Brazilian National Congress (Congreso Nacional); and the Palace of Justice at the Ministry of Justice (Supremo Tribunal Federal).
Each provide for its own tour within a specified schedule.


Television Tower (TORRE DE TELEVISAO)
224 m in height. The observatory, with a panoramic view of the city including the Pra軋 dos Tr黌 Poderes (The 典hree Powers Square), is at 75 m above ground level. It can accommodate 150 people.


The Brasilia National Park (PARQUE NACIONAL DE BRASILIA)
It has trails best suited for strolling and a swimming pool. This pool was constructed on the site where sands were dug up to build the new capital, Brasilia. It is a place of relaxation for the citizens.
The most suitable time for a stroll in the park is May-October.

Nearest airport: The Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport of Brasilia (Aeroporto Internacional de Brasilia)
Season: The best time to visit is from the latter half of April to the first half of June when the dry season has not yet started and the skies are blue on most days.
The dry season is from August to the beginning of September. The rainy season usually starts in the middle of September.
Climate: The city is on a plateau about 1,152 m above sea level, thus, the temperature and humidity are lower than the coastal areas throughout the year.
The temperature is low in June and July at about 18 degrees. From October to March, the average temperature is 22.3 degrees with much rainfall.

Various types of hotels that include world-famous ones are available.
Most hotels are concentrated in the north hotel district and the south hotel district near the center of the city.
